The US GlobalSat “G-Mouse” GPS Receiver is completely waterproof and incorporates an active patch antenna for the highest level of GPS accuracy. Since power and data are transferred through the same USB cable from the G-Mouse, there is no need for batteries or any other external power supply.
This GPS utilizes the SiRF Star III chipset. This chipset is known for having fast acquisition times as well as being able to receive a GPS signal where other GPS chipsets might not have been able to acquire a solid signal, or “fix”.
The GlobalSat G-Mouse outputs a standard NMEA 0183 protocol used by all popular marine navigation software applications, including The CAPN. The G-Mouse has a 59 inch cable and a suction cup for easy mounting.
